She said she would tell her superiors about fixing this problem. I called BB&B again and asked for a supervisor. But Surprise! When I placed the 8 towels in my cart, the pre-tax subtotal was $128, which is $16 per towel! That’s 66.6% more than the listed price, which happens to be double the 33.3% increase from earlier today. Strange, right? I added 8 towels to my cart, which should have been $72 via the emailed link, or $76.80 at the “regular” price of $9.60 each. When I clicked the link this afternoon, the “regular” price was still $9.60, but the “members” price had gone up to $12.80. I was told that the link would allow me to buy the towels at $9.00 each. I called BB&B, described the problem, and was sent a link via email. This is COULD be a mistake, though it’s my belief that computers only mess up basic math functions if they are programmed to do so. BB&B was trying to charge me $12.80 per towel, or 33.3% more than the price in the item’s description. Right? But 8 x $9.60 should be almost $80. After all, computers are better at math than I am. I check prices and quantities on receipts, but I don’t check the math. If it had been under $100, I might not have noticed the problem. Just the line item pre-tax subtotal, which was $102.40. When I placed 8 of them in my cart, the per-towel price wasn’t listed. Prices listed were regular $9.60, and members $7.68. This happened to me with several different items today, and twice on the same item.

But when a customer places multiple items in their shopping cart, a third and much higher price is charged. One is a “regular” price, and one is for “members” (BB&B makes recurring automatic charges to members’ credit cards.) This is a bit sneaky, but not illegal. Their system displays two different prices for most non-clearance items. Who has ever been in a situation like this? Well, here I am June 9, receiving a request for payment in my email - acknowledging that the item is still with the manufacturer and still delayed.

Never received an email of cancellation, but trusted that Bed Bath and Beyond is doing the right thing taking care of their customers. I was told the order is canceled 2 weeks ago. After being told that the order cannot be cancelled even though my order has not been delivered in over a month, I insisted to stop the order immediately with their next level supervisor.

I ended up chatting with their customer service, got dropped. No response! I then called - no live person. The second notice mid May, I send them an email with my wish to cancel. When I received the first notice of delivery delays I felt it is okay to wait a couple weeks. Today June 10, nothing has been delivered. I ordered an item online beginning of April with the promise of prompt delivery.
